The new 3 phase mobile radiant heater from Broughton, the RG9 is worth a mention. Of course we supply a wide range of mobile and portable radiant heaters, but they are invariably single phase either 230v or 110v, which means that they have little hope of generating more than 3kw of heat.
Enter the RG9, a 3 phase mobile radiant heater from Broughton with a whopping 9kw of heat. With 9kw, it is a game changer and it means that instead of relying on a number of small radiant heaters close to the action in a workshop, you can use one large one set a bit further back and in the process reduce clutter and trip hazards.
It makes so much sense that is remarkable that such a heater has not been developed earlier. Because it runs on 3 phase, not only is it inherently more efficient per kw of heat produced, the likelihood is that it will cost you less to run per kw of electricity used because 3 phase is generally cheaper than single phase.
The elements are new as well, instead of using quartz or ceramic elements which are very prone to breakage, the RG9, like its smaller single phase stablemates uses carbon fibre elements which last far longer and are more resistant to burn out that is common in other heaters.
The elements are arranged into 2 banks which means that the heater can be controlled in 2 stages, with either one bank on producing 4.5kw or both banks on producing 9kw. It's a big unit at 35kgs so is equipped with braked castors. Whilst it is a very capable heater for work places for the benefit of staff, it is also ideal for process drying applications, such as speeding the drying of painted components.
