Suspended air cleaners are designed to suspended by roof or ceiling structures to recirculate and clean the air within an air space. In addition to being used in a free hanging mode so that it hangs within the occupied space, it is also possible to install some models in the void space above a false ceiling. Used in this way it would be typical to have return ducting connected to bring relatively dirty air from the room and supply ducting connected to to the other end of the suspended air cleaner to take cleaned air back into the room. Another variant of suspended air cleaner is the UPT ceiling grid models. These are designed to fit into a suspended ceiling grid square and when fitted leave a smart flat facia under the ceiling grid and the main body of the air cleaner is above the ceiling line, well out of sight.
